Under-14 Girls All-Ireland club championship
The 2023 Under-14 girls All-Ireland club championships finals took place in Gormanstown, co. Meath over the weekend.
The top two teams from each league, the length and breadth of the country qualified for finals weekend. Longford Phoenix proudly represented the Longford-Leitrim-Roscommom League along with Boyle of Roscommon.
The Phoenix girls played in group six with Boyle, Carrick Cruisers from Monaghan's Carickmacross, Clare side Kilrush, and Kilkenny Stars.
The group games were completed on Saturday, Longford Phoenix winning three of their four group matches to finish group runners-up.
They defeated Boyle comprehensively by 45-14 in their morning match before losing their early afternoon contest to Carrick Cruisers, by 32-23.
The phoenix bounced back to winning ways in their third match with an emphatic 48-12 victory over Kilrush.
Their fourth and final match of the day was an evening clash against Kilkenny Stars which the girls won by 35-24.
Pheonix girls were narrowly beaten in their Division B quarter-final by six points, losing to Carlow by 34-28.
Muckno Lakers of Castleblayney won the Division B title with victories in their three knockout matches including wins over Carlow in the semi-final and Dublin's Firhouse in the final.
