Longford sit on top of O’Byrne cup group B following a convincing 0-15 to 0-4 victory over Carlow at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Longford dominated the contest throughout and led six points to two at half-time. Dessie Reynolds (two) Dylan Farrell (two each, Keelan McGann and Joseph Hagan were on target for the Midlanders.
Darragh Foley reduced the margin to three points within two minutes of the restart but the visitors only managed one score thereafter.
Longford were far more clinical and landed eight of the next nine scores to run out convincing winners. Paddy Christie’s men now have two wins from as many games.
