Longford will face Louth in this year’s O’Byrne Cup final after Offaly withdrew from the competition.
After their win over Dublin in midweek, Offaly boss Liam Kearns hit out at Louth’s decision to forfeit their final group win, giving them extra preparation time for the final.
Offaly had requested the semi-final be moved to the 20th or 21st of January, meaning the final would need a new date.
In their statement Offaly GAA say, Leinster GAA were willing to explore the change, but Louth GAA were not.
