Longford Town and Galway United played out a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the SSE Airtricity first division play-off.
Jordon Adeyemo opened the scoring for town on 29 minutes. Adeyemo heading Darren Clarke's cross past Galway keeper Conor Kearns.
Galway equalised four minutes into the second-half. Half-time substitute Mikie Rowe firing home at the back post.
Adeyemo restored Longford's lead on 54 minutes. Clarke the provider again, his low cross fired home by the former Galway forward.
Galway were level on the hour mark. Town keeper Luke Denniston could only parry Rob Manley's header. Rowe was on hand to follow home.
The sides meet in the second leg at 4pm on Sunday in Eammon Deacy park.
