Longford Town fell to another premier division defeat as relegation stares town in the face.
Dean Williams second-half strike had given Town some hope, but in-form Waterford fought back to win 4-1.
Cian Kavanagh gave Waterford the lead on 36 minutes as he turned in Jack Stafford’s cross. The deservedly led at half-time.
Two minutes into the second-half and the town were back on level terms. Dean Williams collect Paddy Kirk’s through ball and slipped it past Waterford keeper Brian Murphy.
Waterford however were back in-front four minutes later. Lee Stacey saved Kavanagh’s penalty only for John Martin to follow the ball in.
Waterford took control of the game and Town never looked like equalising.
