Longford Town are looking to cause another upset when they lost second placed Waterford on Saturday night.
Town scored the shock league of Ireland result of the year when beating Galway United on the May bank holiday Monday. Longford ending Galway#s 12 game winning run.
Although, Stephen Henderson’s side have remained inconsistent beating Kerry away and then losing 3-0 at home to Treaty United.
However, Longford bounced back from the Treaty defeat with an excellent 3-0 win at Wexford last Friday.

“We have to set ourselves up slightly different for a team like Waterford” explained Henderson in comparison to the Wexford win.
“I think we have bit more of a dynamic to ourselves” explained Henderson. “We’ve a different outlook on how to counter attack teams”.
“I can do nothing but praise this group of kids” added Henderson. “These are kids I signed to feed into this club”.
“I didn’t sign them to be thrown straight in and tell them you have to get to playoffs” added Henderson. Longford remain seventh in the table with just four wins from 15.
“I had to throw them in” explained Henderson. But by and large we’ve done great, obviously we had some horrendous nights”.
“We’re stretched, we’re really stretched” added Henderson. “If you look in Bishopsgate and look into the stand, you will see eight or nine players who could win the first division and they haven’t kicked a ball for us!"
“I think we’re in a good position, we’ve spoken to a couple of players that we hope to bring in in July”.
Longford Town host Waterford at 7:45 in Bishopgate stadium on May 27th.
