Longford Town's preparations for the 2024 SSE Airtricity first division are continuing.
Longford begin their season on Saturday February 17th at home to Finn Harps. Town will be looking to improve their 2023 season where they finished eighth.
Re-signed from last season are; Adam Wixted, Francis Campbell, Shane Elworthy, Oisin Hand, Bastien Hery, Jack Brady, Kyle O'Connor, Aaron Walsh. While no players were under contract.
Stephen Henderson will be in charge for his second season. Henderson has signed Dean George (Treaty United), Luke Wade Slater (Drogheda United), Jordan Tallon (Treaty United), Dean O'Shea (Treaty United), Karl Chambers (Wexford).
Leaving Longford are: Lewis Temple (Shelbourne - end of loan), Derek Daly, James Doona (Glenavon), Dylan Hand (Athlone Town).
Town host Finn Harps on the opening weekend of the season. Harps having finished a place below Longford in 2023.
Longford are on the road twice with trips to Wexford followed by Bray Wanderers the following two weeks. Town return to Bishopsgate on Saturday March ninth when they host Cork City.
While on the pitch, 2023 was a poor season, town recorded a 36% increase in attendance in the year. A record the club will look to build on.
