Longford town travel to Bray Wanderers as Bray celebrate their 600th home league game in the League of Ireland.
The Wicklow side will be looking for their first home league success of the campaign. Whereas, Longford will be looking for their first points of the 2024 season.
“Last week was pleasing. The most pleasing bit was that we won the game explained Bray first team Head Coach Ian Ryan after their win over Kerry.
“On a bigger ptich, we were asked questions and put ourselves in a difficult position. And the players came out of it brilliantly. Overall, it was really good.”
“It’s very early in the season” added Ryan. “The only consistent thing in the league at the moment is that there’s no consistency with all the teams”.
“Any team can put a couple of wins together in a row which will see them shoot up the table. We hope to do that on Friday.”
Longford didn’t play last week with their scheduled match against Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park called off.
“I don’t know if that goes for us or against us” added Ryan. I was at their game with Finn Harps”.
“Longford started off really well. And then the game came away from them. They’ve probably had a week of licking their wounds. So, we know we’ll be in for a fight”.
Bray have injury worries over defenders Cole Omorehiomwan and Evan Osam. While there are concerns about the strike trio of Cristian Magerusan, Ben Feeney, and Peter Grogan.
“Cole hasn’t trained this week. He’ll have to be assessed. The same goes for Cristian, Ben, and Peter. Evan is on his way back” explained Ryan.
