Longford blasted their way into the Leinster U20 quarter-final with an 11 point win over Wexford in Parnell Park.
Jack Duggan landed two goals and five points as Longford won out 4-9 to 1-7 and setup a meeting with Meath.
Duggan opened Longford’s account with a 10th minute goal. Duggan got Longford’s second goal two minutes before half-time.
Three points either side of the goals from Duggan (1 free) and a point each from McGann and Bryan Masterson saw Longford lead 2-5 to 0-3 at the break.
Longford didn’t take their foot off the gas after the restart. Two points from Duggan and a Tiarnan Hussey free saw them lead 2-8 to five points on 47 minutes.
Keelin McGann found the net on 48 minutes to put the game beyond doubt. Ciaran Scanlon’s point and 52nd minute goal saw Longford home 4-9 to 1-7 and a date with Meath in the quarter-finals
