A last gasp Daniel Mulroy free saw Louth grab a point against Longford in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Mulroy’s free came eight minutes into injury time as it finished Longford 0-9 Louth 1-6 for Billy O’Loughlin’s first point as Longford manager.
Louth found the net after just eight minutes Mulroy turning his marker and firing into the net. The fifth goal Longford have conceded in the league this year.
Longford battled back with points from Jayson Matthews, Iarla O’Sullivan and Paddy Fox, seeing them level after 14 minutes.
Ciaran Byrne sent over two points for Louth as they led on 22 minutes. Darren Gallagher and Mulroy exchanged frees as Louth led at half-time 1-3 to four points.
Jayson Matthews cut the gap to just one point five minutes into the second half before Ciaran Downey restored Louth’s two-point lead on 42 minutes.
A Darren Gallagher free and a point from James Moran levelled the game three minutes later. Gallagher sent over his third free of the day as Longford led with 10 minutes remaining.
A fantastic Mulroy score drew the side’s level on 63 minutes. Longford led again thanks to a Dessie Reynolds point two minutes before the end of normal time.
With six minutes added the referee played a futher additional two minutes were Mulroy’s free saw Louth earn a draw.
