Former Slaughtneil manager Mark Doran has taken the role as senior football coach with Davy Burke’s Roscommon.
Former Down footballer, Doran had been heavily linked with the Derry job. However, Doran will be on the Rossies side-line for the 2024 season.
Prior to taking over Slaughtneil last year, Longstone clubman Doran co-managed Ballybay Pearse Brothers to a Monaghan SFC title in 2022 and the Clare senior footballers in ’23.
Roscommon will play division two football in 2025 and open their Connacht championship campaign away to London. If they overcome London they will face the winners of New York and Galway.

Elsewhere, Longford's Leinster minor winning manager Enda McGahern has been appointed as a Longford senior football selector.
The Fr. Manning Gaels clubman will link up with new manager Mike Solan and fellow selector Michael Moyles after leading Longford to a surprise Leinster MFC title last summer.
Solan was appointed senior team manager last month after Paddy Christie’s departure.
Ballaghaderreen man Solan guided Mayo to an All-Ireland U21FC success in 2016 and was assistant to Andy Moran during his first year in charge of Leitrim.
