Longford Town boss Stephen Henderson was keeping tight lipped after a melee marred the end of Friday night’s game with Kerry.
Kerry held Town scoreless, however, after the game, an all in melee occurred between both sets of players on the back pitch leading to the dressing rooms.
The Irish examiner reports that referee Oliver Moran is believed to have flashed at least three yellow cards.
“We’re in the process of trying to find what was going on” explained Town boss Stephen Henderson. It was “just a big melee started on the pitch”.
“I was away from it, I didn’t see what was going on” explained Henderson. “It seems to still be going on there now in fairness. We’ll have a look into it to see what happened”.
“It’s not great, it didn’t look great did it. We’ll talk to a few of the lads and see what happened.”
Kerry boss Billy Dennehy told the Irish examiner, the unsavoury scenes post-match was due to an unacceptable comment.
“It was very competitive and, obviously, there at the end, I had to speak to the players they’re very upset. There was an unacceptable comment made and we’ll follow up through proper channels” explained Dennehy.
“Yeah, look, we’re going to go through the proper channels as a club and the referee’s been made aware of this, the guards have been made aware of this, we’ll go through all the proper channels than we can, but we will protect our player 100%.”
