Mohill moved top of the Leitrim SFC championship table with one round remaining in a patchy win over Glencar ManorHamilton.
The defending champions controlled the game, scoring a 10-point victory in a game they probably should have scored more.
Ronan Gordon opened the scoring for Mohill in Philly McGuinness park. Ryan Bohan levelling with a free early doors.
However, intent was shown by the defending champions early on when Keith Keegan remained patient to find the net.
Evan Harkin, Domhnaill Flynn 0-2 (1) and Ronan Gordon (f) all fired over scores as Mohill led 1-5 to 0-1 on 11 minutes.
Aaron Hickey kicked Manor’s second point of the game from a free. However, points from Gordon and Conor Quinn saw Mohill lead 1-7 to 0-2 at half-time.
Gordon picked up where he left off with a point right from the restart.
Indeed, Darren Sweeney finished excellently to the net with a chipped finish in response bringing it back to a six-point game.
The sides exchanged points over the next five minutes. Ryan Gilligan and Hickey cancelled out Flynn (f) and Keegan’s scores.
Manorhamilton comeback
Manor showed some edge in getting back into it. Two Hickey points (1f) came either side of Evan Sweeney’s shot being cleared off the line by Sean Harkin. Manor had the game back to five points.
However, Mohill found that extra gear nearing three-quarter time. Two points in a row from Keegan and one each from Harkin and Fiachra McGuinness made it a nine point game.
Jack Rowley sent over a Manor free, but their game was marred by seven wides.
Eoghan Duignan and Jordan Reynolds wrapped up the scoring in injury time as Mohill were comfortable 1-16 to 1-6 winners. Mohill top the league standing heading for the final round.
Elsewhere, Ballinamore Sean O'Heslin's crushed 9-19 Dromahair 9-19 to five points. While, Aughawillan scored an important win over Leitrim Gaels.
