Mostrim produced a big comeback to see off Clonguish and land their first win of the 2023 Longford SFC.
Clonguish led 1-6 to three points with nine minutes of the first-half remember. Darragh Doherty’s penalty brought Mostrim back into the game.
The sides were level 1-6 apiece at half-time. However, Mostrim were the better side in a hard fought second-half Tiarnan Hussey found two goals to fire Mostrim to a three point win.
Mostrim winning out 3-9 to 1-12. Whereas, Clonguish defender Gerry Moore was handed a straight red card for his part in a melee late-on.
The result opens up the Peter Hanley Motors Longford championship group one as Ballymahon are the only team without points.
Meanwhile, Killoe picked up their second win of the championship with a 15 point victory over Rathcline. The win moved Killoe top of group two on score difference having beaten Colmcille in round one.
