St. Columbas Mullinalaghta booked their place in the Longford senior semi-final after a one point win over St .Mary’s Granard.
Mullinalaghta scoring a 1-15 to 1-14 win in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, having trailed seven points to six at half-time.
The ever reliable Cian Mackey rattling the Granard net on 40 minutes, putting Mullinalaghta 1-8 to nine points ahead. Mullinalaghta stretched their lead to four points with 10 minutes remaining.
However, Paul Smyth fired in a Granard goal with eight minutes remaining to level the game, 1-12 each.
The sides where level 1-13 each with five minutes remaining. However, points from James McGivenney and Jayson Matthews sent over points as Mullinalaghta led by two on 60 minutes.
Sean Corcoran scored an injury time point, but it wasn’t enough as Mullinalaghta progressed, 1-15 to 1-14. Mullinalaghta will meet Colmcille in the semi-final. Indeed, Colmcille got the better of Clonguish in Saturday's quarter-finals.
