Newly appointed Longford manager Mike Solan is using the club championship as an opportunity to run his eye over potential new county players.
The Mayo man was ratified as the new intercounty manager last month. Speaking to the Saturday Sports desk he noted that he and the management team have been taking in fixtures all around the county.
From a club perspective there is still no clarity in regards to the result between Mullinalaghta and Carrickedmond in the senior championship last weekend.
While the game ended in a draw according to the referees score keeping there is some confusion around the correcting of the scoreboard at half-time which awarded a point to Carrickedmond while reporters and others at the game believed the scoreboard to be correct prior to the change.
The draw was enough for both teams to progress to the quarter-final with Dromard losing on score difference. However, a loss for Carrickedmond would have seen them drop out the championship at the expense of the Dromard.
The county board did confirm that those who qualified from Group B for the quarter-finals were Abbeylara, Clonguish, Mullinalaghta and Carrickedmond. However, the placings are subject to confirmation of referees reports.
