Roscommon's All-Ireland U20 challenge ended in defeat as Offaly scored a 1-14 to 1-11 victory in the Croke Park final.
Roscommon went down fighting having trailed by seven points with seven points with ten minutes of normal-time remaining.
Offaly seemed to have won it when full-forward Jack Bryant blasted the ball past rossie keeper Conor Carroll into the top corner.
However, Roscommon fought back, Adam McDermott scored his fifth goal of the season making it a three point game.
It wasn’t to be for Roscommon however as Offaly held for victory and Roscommon possibly rue missing some first-half goal chances.
Offaly had started brighter working themselves in to three points to no score lead. The faithfully county led seven to five at half-time
James Fitzpatrick made Offaly keeper Sean O'Toole produce a stunning first-half save. Darragh Heneghan was twice denied and Daire Cregg shot was cleared off the line.
Roscommon had the game back to a two-pointer but Offaly went up a gear on 42 minutes scoring five points in a-row.
Jack Bryant goal 10 minutes from time appeared to have won it for Offaly making it a six point game. Roscommon fought back with McDermott’s goal.
It wasn’t to be and Offaly deservedly won by three points 1-14 to 1-11.
