Longford fell to their fourth Allianz league division three defeat of the season by one point to Offaly.
Jack Bryant 55th minute goal proved a major factor as Offaly scored a 2-14 to 1-16 victory.
The sides were level at 1-9 each at half-time, both goals coming in the opening moments.
Offaly’s Bernard Allen capitalised on a slip by Barry O’Farrell and riffled in a goal.
Longford responded quickly, Ian Duffy kick-out fell for Daniel Mimnagh who found the net all with the opening four minutes.
Dylan Farrell, Dessie Reynolds and a McGivney free gave Longford edged Longford ahead approaching half-time. Allen equalised just before half-time.
Longford started the second-half well, opening up a three-point advantage by the 45th minute.
The game swung in the 54th minute. Dylan Farrell shooting wide with a goal chance. Offaly broke from the restart with substitute Jack Bryant finding the net.
Offaly found momentum and led by four with four minutes remaining.
Longford attempted a comeback for a second week in a row, but they could muster the final step as they fell to a one point defeat.
