Olivia Costello has been named in the Ireland team for the Women’s Octagonal Matches.
Golf Ireland have announced an eight player team to represent Ireland at the Women’s Octagonal Matches. Six countries will be competing alongside Ireland in Costa Ballena, Spain.
Indeed, Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain (2) will provide the opposition from the 14th to the 17th of February.
The eight teams will be split into two groups of four (Red & Blue) to compete in a round robin style competition over the first three days.
Once the Round Robin is completed, corresponding teams (i.e. 1st vs 1st), play against one another on the final day to establish the final classification.
Each team will play one match per day. Whereas, the format of each day’s play shall be four matches consisting of three games of 18-hole foursomes in the morning and six games of 18-hole singles in the afternoon.
The Ireland golf team is as follows; Anna Abom – Edmondstown, Olivia Costello – Roscommon, Kate Dillon – Oughterard, Kate Lanigan – Hermitage; Mairead Martin – Kanturk, Caoimhe O’Grady – Royal Dublin, Jessica Ross – Clandeboye, Annabel Wilson – Lurgan.
