Aoife O'Rourke to box for silver at Strandja international

Aoife O’Rourke will face Anastasiia Shamonova of Russia for silver at the Strandja Tournament in Sofia.

O’Rourke won her quarter-final bout with Davina Michel of France on a unanimous decision on Wednesday. The judges scored the bout, 30:27, 30:26, 29:27, 30:27, 30:26.

O’Rourke’s bout with the Russian will take place on Friday.

Elsewhere, Kellie Harrington won a unanimous decision in decisive fashion over Kazabhstan’s Aidana Zabynbekova.

Carly McNaul is the only Ireland boxer in action at Strandja today. McNaul takes on Tetiana Kob of Ukraine in Bout 8 of Ring A's afternoon session.
