Rathcline bounced back into contention as Dromard kept up their winning ways as the fourth round of the Longford championship got underway.
Rathcline 4-10 Clonguish 2-13
This game was a close encounter for the majority with a Rathcline blitz the difference in the game.
Rathcline led by a goal at half-time 1-6 to six points. David Rooney’s goal just before half-time the difference.
Shane Kenny and Oran Kenny both found the net in the third-quarter seeing Rathcline lead 3-9 to 11 points.
Clonguish did not give up and found the net twice in the last quarter but Rathcline had enough to win out by three points and move themselves back into quarter-final contention.
Dromard 2-13 St. Mary’s Granard 0-8
The Granard ship ran aground last weekend and it looks like a concluding procession for the Granard men.
Dromard led by five at half-time 10 points to five. Dromard found the net twice in the second-half putting them out of site.
Granard battled back with three late points but it was too little too late at that stage as Dromard continue their way into the quarter-finals.
