Cork football manager Ronan McCarthy has failed in his latest attempt to have a 12-week suspension overturned. McCarthy was found to have broken the ban on collective team training with a gathering at Youghal Beach in January, with footage circulating on social media platforms.
The Rebel manager was charged with discrediting the association, with him arguing that the exercise was a team building gathering and not collective training. Having been handed the 12 weeks suspension by the Central hearings committee, Mc Carthy appealed it to the Central appeals committee who heard the case on Monday night and ruled to uphold the suspension.
