Roscommon grabbed a place in the Connacht U20 final with a 13 point victory over Leitrim.
The win secured top spot in the group as Roscommon finished level on points with Galway but with a greater score difference.
Roscommon beating Leitrim 3-16 to 2-6 in Ballinamore to become group winners. Leitrim’s Connacht campaign has concluded.
Two first-half goals from Niall O'Donnell turned the game on its head as the Rossies led 2-7 to 1-3 at the break. The teams were tied six points to 1-3 five minutes before the break. Indeed, O’Donnell’s goals landed in the space of two minutes.
Shane McGinley and Bobby Nugent added second-half goals, the hosts finished with 14 men after Darren Cox received a second yellow.
The win see’s Roscommon advance to the final on the fourth or fifth of May. Whereas, holders Sligo will face Galway in the semi-final next week.
Whereas, Mayo and Leitrim will now contest the Philly McGuinness Cup final next Wednesday, April 24th.
