Ballymoe F.C sit atop Roscommon and District League Premier Division, but its early days.
Damien Goggins made it eight goals in three games when Ballymoe hosted C.P Ajax in a local derby.
Goggins scored two fine goals on the break in the first-half. Gerry Ward converted a penalty for the Castleplunket side with 20 minutes remaining. While CP Ajax had a few chance they failed to get an equaliser.
Moore United made the long trip to Castlerea on Friday night, coming away with a point following a 2–2 draw in very challenging conditions.
Moore opened the scoring early door. Charles Nevin created a chance for his brother Andy to score.
A fine solo goal by Jay McCartney had the side’s level a few minutes later. Moore led 2–1 at half- time. This time Jay McPhilbin’s shot was parried by the Castlerea keeper and Andy Nevin struck his second.
Castlerea Celtic were on top in the second-half and only some good saves by keeper Adam McManus kept Moore in front.
However, with just a few minutes remaining, Jay McCartney made no mistake from the penalty spot to equalise.
Moylough top division one
In Division 1 Moylough 79 went top of the table after winning their two opening games. Moylough scoring a 1-0 home win over Glen Celtic.
It was a really tight game with both teams having chances to score. Moylough finally hit the back of the net with 10 minutes remaining through Mike Kelly.
Ballinasloe Town beat newly promoted St Cuans/Ahascragh United 5–1 at home. Money Founas scored twice with Cameron O’Leary and Johnny Mooney scored one each.
An own goal made up the Ballinasloe total with Liam O’Connor replying for Cuans/Ahascragh.
Roscommon United are top of the Division 2 table after winning their two opening games.
Goals from Patryk Pietrzak, Marcel Gala, Liam Hannon and Marcelo De Sousa Ferreira saw a 4-2 win over Cloonfad United. Carlos Kirrane and Jack Reinhardt replying for Cloonfad.
Kilkerrin United beat Rahara Rovers 4–0 at Rahara. Enda Keane scored two and Daniel Stephens one on their debut with the ever green Declan Murphy making up the total.
St. Johns Athletic beat Cam Celtic/Dysart 3–1 at Lecarrow. Caimin Boland scored two and Ryan Dowling one for St. Johns, Ben Moran scored for Celtic/Dysart.
Women's league round-up
In the first series of games in the Women’s League, Ballaghaderreen beat Kilkerrin 3–2 at Kilkerrin. Eleanor Mc Dermott gave the hosts a 1–0 lead.
Grace McDermott, Caoimhe Feeney and Jessica Feeney added three for Ballaghaderreen before Caitlin Boyle scored a second for the Kilkerrin. Only a great save by the Ballaghaderreen keeper denied Kilkerrin an equaliser.
Dunmore Town and Ballinasloe Town drew 1–1 at Dunmore and Castlerea Celtic beat Boyle Celtic 2–1 at Castlerea.
Aoife Smyth and Rachel Gormley scored for Castlerea Celtic and Aoife Kiernan replied for Boyle Celtic.
