Women's league round-up

Castlerea Celtic continue undefeated in the Roscommon and District league Premier Division following a 3–2 win over Shiven Rovers at Castlerea.

Ronan Curran and Adam McDermott had the hosts 2–0 up on 13 minutes. Jay McCartney added a third early in the second-half.

Adam Farrell and Darragh Murphy pulled two back for the Newbridge side but Castlerea Celtic held out for victory.

Boyle Celtic share second place with Moore United but have two games less played than leaders Castlerea Celtic. Boyle beat champions Ballaghaderreen 6–0 at Boyle.

Michael Corrigan had Boyle 2–0 at half-time and added three more in the second-half. Cathal McKeon added one for Boyle in the second-half.

St. Johns Athletic came from behind to snatch a late equaliser at home to Ballymoe FC. Damien Goggins gave Ballymoe a 1–0 lead after six minutes and Darragh Keenan converted a penalty to level the game on 26 minutes.

Damien Goggins and Conor Kennedy struck two more for the Ballymoe side. Whereas, Cian Kelly and Jamie Tiernan replied for St. Johns Athletic.

Castlerea Celtic have and 12 points from six games. Boyle Celtic have 10 points from four games. Moore United have 10 points from four games. Whereas, Ballymoe have eight points from five games, St. Johns Athletic have six points from four.

FAI Junior Cup Round-up

Roscommon and District League Division 1 side Cloonfad failed to advance to Round four of the FAI Junior Cup when beaten 5–0 at home by the Connacht Champions Castlebar Celtic.

In the Joes Bar Challenge Cup Skyvalley Rovers advanced to the next round thanks to a comfortable 8–0 win over a young St Cuans/Ahascragh United side at Taughmaconnell.

The home side scored two in the first quarter of an hour and any chance the visitors had of a comeback were dented when they conceded two own goals by way of deflections each side of half time.

David Grehan scored two and is now the clubs all-time leading goal scorer with 144 goals. Eoin Keogh, David Daly, Michael Garvey and Kenny scored one each.

Division two side Roscommon United knocked Division one side Ballinasloe Town out of the Cup at Roscommon.

Patryk Pietrzak in the first-half and Marcel Gala in the second-half secured a 2–0 win for Roscommon United.

A young and talented Glen Celtic side beat Cam Celtic/Dysart 3–0 at Dysart. Dylan Joyce scored for the winners in the first-half and Gavin Hegarty added a second early in the second-half.

Ryan McHugh scored with a fantastic scissors kick mid-way through the second-half to secure a place in round two.
