Roscommon collected their first win of the Connacht minor championship with a 1-10 to 1-7 win over Galway.
Alan Conroy’s ninth minute goal set the tone for the Rossies who led 1-4 to four points at half-time. Shay McGuinness (0-2), Colin Murray and Declan Kennedy with the Roscommon points.
Dean Casey (f), Dara Curran 0-2 (1f), Keelan Kelly, Cathal Enright and Eoin Collins with Roscommon’s second-half points as they sealed victory.

The result is Roscommon first win of the campaign after defeat to Mayo last weekend.
Meanwhile, Leitrim began their Connacht minor campaign in a single point defeat to Sligo in Markievicz Park. Sligo scoring a nine points to eight victory.
The sides were tied three points a-piece at half-time. Dáire McCabe and two Jack Kelly frees with Leitrim’s first-half scores.
Free’s from Jack Kelly and McCabe had Leitrim one point ahead on 39 minutes. Further frees from Kelly and McCabe saw the game tied seven points each with eight minutes remaining.
Another Kelly free inched Leitrim ahead. However, they were unable to hold on for victory. Sligo levelling the game before Niall Duffy’s point two minutes into injury time saw Sligo win out nine points to eight.
