Roscommon remain unbeaten in Allianz football league division two as they drew nine points apiece with Clare in Dr. Hyde Park today.
Anthony Cunningham’s men were three points ahead with nine minutes remaining before a late rally from the Banner county resulted in a share of the spoils.
The sides were deadlocked at four points each on 22 minutes; Donie Smith scoring a brace for the Rossies while Enda Smith and Cathal Heneghan were also on target.
The sides subsequently traded a point each before a Conor Cox point on the stroke of half-time saw the hosts lead six points to five at the break.
Roscommon moved three points clear five minutes into the second half when Richard Hughes registered a point but the hosts would fail to score for another 21 minutes.
The barren spell ended when Diarmuid Murtagh added a point as the Rossies held a three-point cushion and a third straight win looked conceivable.
Clare had other ideas however and points from Keelan Sexton, Eoin Cleary and David Tubridy resulted in a draw.
