Goals were the difference as Roscommon edge past Cavan in Allianz Hurling League.
Brendan Mulry’s second minute goal proved to be the pivotal moment as Cavan fell to defeat in Dr. Hyde Park.
Mulry found the bottom left corner of the goal in the early stages, leaving the Cavan side chasing the game from the beginning.
The rossies had a strong platform to progress in the game. That is exactly what they did, taking a seven point lead with only 15 minutes gone.
However, Cavan got themselves back within three before the break, with Jack McGuinness, Liam O’Brien, and Sean Keating all keeping the scoreboard ticking over.
Robbie Fallon and Jack Dowling gave Roscommon some breathing room at the start of the second-half.
Nicholas Kenny and Dillion Mulligan got scores for Cavan late on but it wasn’t enough, as Roscommon claimed the victory.
Roscommon winning out 1-19 to Cavan 19 points.
