A ruthless Meath performance saw off Roscommon in tough conditions in Navan and through division two wide open.
Davy Burke’s side had a strong first-half; taking control of the game after 25 minutes as Keith Doyle and a Dylan Ruane two pointer had Roscommon four points ahead at half-time.
Enda Smith and Ciaran Murtagh extended the lead at the start of the second-half. However, it was a Sean Coffey goal that changed the momentum of the game, Meath back within three points.
Ronan Jones found the net a few minutes later to bring the sides level. Indeed, Meath started to take control of the contest. Ciaran Caulfield put Meath in front before they converted three two pointer in a row to take a seven point lead.
Eoghan Frayne’s free was met by a reaction from Conor Cox. However, his late score wasn’t enough, as Meath ran out seven point winners.
