Roscommon GAA recorded a yearly deficit of €269,000 for 2024.
Delegates were advised of the loss at the county board AGM held on Wednesday night in the Percy French Hotel. The convention was rescheduled from Friday December sixth due to storm Daragh.
Expenses were up over €153,000 on 2023, mainly due to €70,000 each of increase on player’s mileage and the managers expenses.
Gate receipts were down €30,000. However, this was due in part to the 2024 county finals taking place in October. The Roscommon GAA financial year closed on September 30 2024.
Income was down over €200,000 due to no major fundraising draw in 2024.
However, Treasurer David O’Connor had further bad news regarding the “win a home in Kildare” fundraiser. O’Connor advised sales were very slow and required a big lift ahead of the draw at the end of December.
On the night there were no elections needed. Tony Christie replaced Sean Flanagan as assistant treasurer.
David McDonald stepped down as coaching officer after his five-year term was completed. However, there was no nominee for the position, meaning the role will be re-advertised to clubs.
Elsewhere, plans for 2025 developments at King & Moffet Dr. Hyde Park and the Dermott Earley centre of excellence were delivered by Chairman Brian Carroll.
