Roscommon Gaels booked their place in the Roscommon SFC final after a one point win over Boyle.
Ryan Conlon’s 14th minute goal was the difference in a game that Boyle struggled to get going in.
Gales led 1-4 to three points at half-time. Boyle’s Niall O’Donnell landed the first score of the game after two minutes. Frees from Mark Purcell and Peter Gilhooley had Gaels ahead on five minutes.
Daire Cregg levelled the game on 11 minutes, but it would be some 20 minutes for another Boyle score.
Ryan Conlon restored Gaels lead a minute later. Then came Conlon’s goal, finishing to the net on the 14th minute. Gilhooley’s second free moving Gales 1-4 to 0-2 ahead.
Oisin Cregg sent over Boyle’s third point a minute into injury time as Gaels led 1-4 to three points at half-time.
Gilhooley moved the game out to five points three minutes into the second-half. Conlon and Mark Purcell sent over points as Gaels led 1-7 to 0-3 12 minutes into the second-half.
However, Boyle suddenly came to life. Cian McKeon (2), Donie Smith (f), Cathal McKeon and Niall O’Donnell landing five points in six minutes. Boyle cutting the lead to two points.
Mark Purcell sent over Gaels first score in 13 minutes through a free to stem the Boyle tide as give Gaels a three point lead.
Cian Connolly made it a four point game on 58 minutes. Enda Smith fired over a point two minutes into injury time, but it wasn’t enough.
Roscommon Gaels setup a semi-final with Michael Glaveys after winning out 1-9 to 0-9.
