Roscommon Gaels advanced to the senior semi-finals with a penalty shootout victory over Oran.
The sides were level 2-4 to 10 points at the end of normal time and were tied 3-7 to 16 points after extra-time.
Mark Purcell opened the Gaels scoring with a goal after four minutes. The Gaels led 1-3 to five points at half-time.
Cian Connolly landed Gaels second goal six minutes from time. Oran fought back to level the game 2-4 to 10 points, sending the game to extra-time.
Whereas, Oran moved two points clear at half-time in extra-time. John McManus landed Gaels third goal of the game, moving them a point clear.
James Fitzpatrick scored a quick double putting Oran back in-front. However, Mark Nally levelled the game sending it to penalties.
The shootout saw both sides convert their first four spot kicks. Before both sides missed two penalties in a row.
However, Oran seventh penalty from Shane Walsh’s was saved. John McManus converted his second spot-kick sending Roscommon Gaels through 5-4.

Roscommon Gaels will now meet St. Brigid’s in the county semi-final at Dr. Hyde Park on Saturday, October 7th at 3pm.
