40x20 Connacht Juvenile 'B'
Lisacul's recent good run of form in juvenile handball continued last Saturday with two more winners in the 40x20 Connacht Juvenile 'B' championships.
Skilful citeog Sean Corrigan was a very impressive winner in the U14 grade, easily beating Galway's Dominic O' Conghaile 15-1, 15-4 in the semi-final. That was before convincingly defeating Mayo's Sean Scott Keane 15-7, 15-1 in the final.
Sean's two training partners John Reilly & Michael Greene followed up their Cumann na mBunscoil Connacht success by easily defeating Galway's Adam Butler & Ryan Beatty 15-1, 15-0 in the U13 doubles.
Joseph Noonan was probably the unluckiest player of the weekend. Noonan had a long, energy-sapping semi-final against Galway's Michael Hynes which he won 21-17, 21-15.
Understandably Noonan seemed to run out of steam in a winnable final against Mayo's Oisin Brady eventually losing 21-16, 21-13 in an entertaining affair.
In U17 doubles Evan Corrigan & Kevin Doherty put up a spirited fight in the first game before succumbing to the better Galway pair of Patrick Walshe & Mark Bradley in two games.
The U12 doubles pairing of Ryan McDermott & Cathal Cox lost their final to Galway's Adam Hanley & Ryan Ferri 15-4, 15-6.
Meanwhile Tiernan Hyland lost his U12 semi-final to Galway's James Walsh in two straight games.
Sarah Boyle was well-beaten by Galway's Shayna ni Mhaille in the Girls U14 singles final.
