The Roscommon hurlers missed out on All-Ireland U20B title following a 3-17 to 2-14 defeat at the hands of Derry at Croke Park.
Derry started in explosive fashion, leading 1-3 to 0-0 inside five minutes. Six minutes later, the Rossies drew level when Liam Og Coyle found the net.
The sides were level again inside first-half stoppage time before Coyle’s point on the stroke of half-time saw Roscommon lead 1-9 to 1-8.
Patrick Fallon gave Roscommon a two-point cushion four minutes into the second half before Derry restored parity seven minutes later.
Derry followed up with 2-3 without reply. Ruairi Mannion with their second goal on 54 minutes and Keelan Doherty added another 60 seconds from time.
Roscommon’s Sean Canning replied with a goal deep into injury time but the Rossies still fell short in the end.
