The Roscommon hurlers were too strong for Monaghan winning 2-24 to 1-15 at Dr Hyde Park in Allianz hurling league division 3A.
The Rossies started explosively and were six points clear on 18 minutes before Brendan Mulry’s goal on 33 minutes helped them to a 1-14 to 0-5 lead at half-time.
The hosts moved 14 points clear within four minutes after the restart as the hosts when Mulry added a second goal.
17 minutes later Thomas Hughes replied with a goal for Monaghan which made it a ten-point game but the hosts dominated the scoring thereafter and ran out comfortable winners.
