Roscommon were crowned Connacht ladies intermediate football champions following a 2-13 to 1-7 victory over Leitrim at Kiltoom.
Roscommon started impressively and points from Laura Fleming and two from Aisling Hanly saw them lead 0-3 to no score on eight minutes.
Carla McGuen opened Leitrim’s account three minutes later and Laura O’Dowd added a goal within 60 seconds. Hanly subsequently added her third point making it a level game.
Roscommon followed up with three of the next five scores and led 0-7 to 1-3 at half-time.
Michelle Guckian pushed Leitrim two points clear on 36 minutes. Seven minutes later, Aisling Hanly’s goal saw the Rossies lead by the same margin.
Ollie Lennon’s side finished strongly landing three of the last four scores resulting in a nine-point victory.
