Roscommon opened their Lidl ladies national football league division two campaign with a 1-15 to 1-12 defeat at the hands of Tyrone at Omagh.
The sides were tied at seven points each at half-time. Laura Fleming (four), Aisling Hanly (two) and Aisling Feeley were on target for Roscommon.
Roscommon opened the second half with points from Fleming and Aoife Gavin but Niamh Hughes’ goal on 44 minutes pushed Tyrone three points clear.
Tyrone subsequently opened up a six-point lead before a goal from Roscommon’s Laura Fleming brought it back to a three-point game one minute from time.
The sides traded a point each thereafter as Roscommon suffered a three-point defeat in the end.
