Roscommon LGFA have apologized to former manager Ollie Lennon after commentary surrounding his dismissal from the position.
The Roscommon LGFA board released a statement on Monday evening apologising to Lennon and his backroom team for any hurt or distress caused.
The statement read;
“Roscommon LGFA discussed the recent commentary surrounding the adult county team management at its most recent meeting”.
“Roscommon LGFA wishes to apologise to former adult team manager, Ollie Lennon, and members of his backroom team for any recent hurt or distress caused”.
“We thank Ollie and his backroom team for their service to Roscommon LGFA and we wish them the very best for the future”.
“Roscommon LGFA also regrets any unintended hurt or distress to county team players, in light of recent events”.
“Roscommon LGFA will issue no further comment.”
Lennon left the role on September sixth after the county executive carried a recommendation from the development committee, to look for a change of management.
However, Lennon questioned the recommendation of the development committee, which was based on a player survey.
A further statement from the players stated they had been misrepresented.
