Roscommon advanced to the Connacht minor football semi-final after a six point win over Sligo in Dr. Hyde Park.
Goals in either half from Sean Dean Casey and Sean McDonnell helped Roscommon to a 2-8 to eight point win.
Roscommon had led 1-5 to three points at half-time. Dean Casey 1-1, Dara Curran, Sean McDonnell and Stephen Tighe 0-2 with Roscommon’s scores.
A Sean McDonnell goal, frees from Duffy and Dara Curran and Colin Murray were Roscommon’s second-half scorers.

Meanwhile, Mayo scored a convincing 13 point win over Mayo in McHale Park. Mayo winning out 3-8 to four points.
Mayo led six points to three at half-time. Leitrim’s points coming from Jack Kelly 0-2 1f and a Daire McCabe free. Mayo scorers came from Kobe McDonald 0-3 2f, Josh Moyles, Tom Hession and Fionn Kinsella.
Oisin Deane, Kobe McDonald and Evan Walsh all rattled the Leitrim net in the second-half. Bailey McBride with Leitrim’s solidary score.
