The Roscommon senior football championship enters make or break status with just one round remaining.
Strokestown’s exit in the group stage, came as a major surprise. The defending champions losing to Oran on Sunday, following a round one defeat to Clann na nGael.
Group C is relatively straight forward, with the next round of games scheduled for Friday September one. Clann face Oran and Strokestown go meet Tulsk.
Both Clann and Oran are guaranteed of a quarter-final spot. The winner of that game will win the group and face the runner-up in group A in the quarter-final. A draw will see Clann win the group on score difference.
The meeting of Strokestown and Tulsk will decided who enters the relegation play-off. Strokestown currently sit bottom of the group on score difference.
Group A is far from done. Table toppers Roscommon Gaels meet St. Faithleach's, while second placed Boyle face Western Gaels. Roscommon Gaels top the table with three points, followed by Boyle with three points.
St. Faithleach's have two points and Western Gaels have one point. A win for either team in either game should be enough to secure a quarter-final berth. Western Gaels are the only exception, if they come down to head to head with St Faithleach’s.
In group B, St Brigids have already qualified for the quarter-finals with two wins from two. Brigids face Michael Glaveys in the last round. Whereas, Glaveys have yet to collect a point and cannot progress to the quarter-final.
The other game sees Pádraig Pearses meet St. Dominic's. Both sides sit on two points. A winner is needed here to decide who progresses to the quarter-final.
The winner of Group B will face North Roscommon, while West Roscommon will face the runner-up in this group in the quarter-final.
