Clann na nGael continued their perfect record in group A of the Hodson Bay Senior Football Championship with a 0-14 to 0-10 victory Padraig Pearses in Johnstown last Friday.
Clann na nGael now have two wins from as many games having defeated Strokestown in round one while Strokestown recovered from last week’s disappointment to beat Western Gaels 1-16 to 2-9 on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in group B, Elphin are still searching for their first win of the campaign after suffering a 1-9 to 0-10 defeat to Roscommon Gaels on Saturday.
The group’s other fixture saw Michael Glaveys edge out Boyle by the smallest of margins winning 4-9 to 1-17.
Elsewhere, in group C, reigning champions St. Brigid’s had six points to spare over Tulsk Lord Edwards winning 1-17 to 1-11 last Saturday.
Oran also proved their opening round win over St. Brigid’s was an accurate result as they inflicted a 5-13 to 0-8 defeat on St. Croan’s.
