Roscommon all-star Enda Smith has been named in Roscommon’s starting 15 against Cavan, although questions marks remain over his availability.
“He (Smith) hasn’t done an awful lot since Mayo” Roscommon boss Davy Burke told Shannonside Sport.
“He was carried off against Mayo and hasn’t done a lot since then, so it will be a game time decision” explained Burke.
“We’re in good shape with 35 of 37 training on Wednesday night” Burke revealed as his starting 15 was announced.
A draw would be enough for Roscommon to progress. Whereas, Cavan need a win to progress. The losing side will exit the championship.
While starting 15’s in Gaelic football must be announced 24 hours ahead of the game, teams rarely start as selected. Indeed, Burke has named Conor Carroll in goal with Niall Higgins, Brian Stack and Robbie Dolan across the full-back line. David Murray, Ruaidri Fallon and Eon McCormack across the half-backs.
Enda Smith and Ultan Harney are named at centre-field. Whereas, Dylan Ruane, Diarmuid Murtagh and Shane Cunnane are the half-forward line.
Daire Cregg, Conor Cox and Donie Smith make-up the full-forward line. On the bench, Burke has gone for Colm Lavin, Niall Daly, Paddy Gavin, Ronan Daly, Keith Doyle, Andrew Glennon, Conor Hand, Adam McDermott, Tadhg O’Rourke, Conor Hussey and Ciaran Lennon.
📣 Davy Burke has named his team to face Cavan in Round 3 of the All-Ireland Football Championship on Saturday at Glennon Brothers, Pearse Park.
