Roscommon took a huge step to the Nicky Rackard Cup final with a 3-24 to 21 point victory over Tyrone.
Division 3A champions Tyrone look set to continue their good form but Roscommon produced an excellent first half in the Hyde.
Daniel Glynn converted a tenth minute penalty and Roscommon were on their way. The hosts hit an unanswered 1-7 before half-time. Roscommon’s second goal coming from Brendan Mulry.
Roscommon led 2-13 to 0-9 at the break.
Francis O’Halloran side took their foot off the gas in the third-quarter with Tyrone sending over the points as Roscommon led by five.
The hosts responded with scores from Eamon Mulry, Mickey Joe Egan, Connell Kennelly, Glynn and Man of the Match Conor Cosgrove.
Adam Donnelly finished a brilliant counter-attack to the net in injury time to give his side a 12-point victory as they won out 3-24 to 0-21.
Roscommon face Fermanagh next Saturday in their final group game but sit top of the Nicky Rackard cup table
Third placed Tyrone host second placed Donegal. Roscommon have a superior score difference and are set for the Croke Park final.
