The Rossies have now recorded two wins from as many games.

Richard Hughes last-gasp winner saw Roscommon remain on top of Allianz league division one, beating Galway 0-9 to 0-8 at Pearse Stadium.

The Rossies were four points down heading into the final quarter before five unanswered points saw Davy Burke’s men emerge victorious.

Roscommon started the better and points from Daire Cregg and Ciaran Lennon gave the visitors a two-point cushion inside 11 minutes.

Roscommon went 24 minutes without scoring. Diarmuid Murtagh eventually ended the drought on the stroke of half-time where the visitors trailed five points to three.

Johnny Heaney and Conneely stretched Galway’s lead to four points within five minutes of the restart before Diarmuid Murtagh replied for Roscommon two minutes later.
