Roscommon are currently top of Allianz football league division one following a 3-11 to 1-12 victory over Tyrone in their round one clash at Dr. Hyde Park.
Just one point separated the sides two minutes from time before the Rossies landed 1-1 without reply in injury time resulting in a five-point victory.
Roscommon led by a point on 19 minutes before points from Daire Creg, Conor Cox, Brian Stack and Niall Daly pushed the hosts five points clear 12 minutes later.
Tyrone finished the half impressively and a point each from David Mulgrew and Darragh Canavan made it 0-8 to 0-5 in Roscommon’s favour at half-time.
11 minutes into the second half, Tyrone moved two points clear when Kieran McGeary found the net before Ciaran Murtagh’s goal on 53 minutes saw the Rossies draw level.
Four minutes later, his brother Diarmuid added a second goal and suddenly Davy Burke’s men held a three-point buffer.
Niall Sludden reduced the margin to a solitary point before a point from Niall Daly and a goal from Ben O’Carroll sealed the win for Roscommon.
