St. Mary’s Kiltoghert missed out on a Connacht club senior football final appearance following a 0-8 to 0-6 loss to Tourlestrane at Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.
The Leitrim champions were four points clear at the break but suffered defeat in the end after failing to score during the second half.
Tourlestrane’s Liam Gaughan opened the scoring two minutes in but the Sligo champions subsequently endured a 30-minute barren spell. St. Mary’s amassed six points during the remainder of the half.
Paul Keaney accounted for three points while Mark Diffley, Cian Singleton and Diarmuid Kelleher added a point each as St. Mary’s led 0-6 to 0-2 at half-time.
Tourlestrane completely dominated the second half and points from Kenny Gavigan and Liam Gaughan made it a two-point game within five minutes of the restart.
St. Mary’s almost scored a goal on 42 minutes. Oisin Bohan played in Conor Hackett but his effort went across the face of the goal.
Tourlestrane landed five unanswered points thereafter. Liam Gaughan (three), Gary Gaughan and Rian Kennedy were all on target as the visitors emerged victorious.
The Sligo champions can now look forward to a Connacht-final meeting with either Strokestown or Moyculllen.
