A gallant second-half comeback saw the Roscommon hurlers draw 3-16 to 1-22 with Donegal in the Nickey Rackard Cup clash at Letterkenny.
Donegal started the game better and were four points clear on nine minutes and held on to lead by the same margin at half-time; 0-12 to 0-8.
A goal by Eoin Fitzgerald made it a two-point game within seven minutes of the restart and eight minutes later, parity was restored when Daniel Glynn slotted over a point.
Roscommon were down to 14 men when Conor Coyle was sent off and the visitors lost their way temporarily as Donegal responded with five successive points.
The Rossies regained their momentum and a goal each from Glynn (penalty) and Adam Donnelly gave Francis O’Halloran’s men a four-point lead heading into injury time.
Donegal finished with a flourish however and Ronan McDermott’s goal four minutes into injury time saw the game finish level.
