As the country counts down to Level 5 Covid 19 restrictions due to come into place at midnight, further confusion is surrounding the Inter-county GAA season.
Clarity was sought in regards to what grade of competition can continue under Level 5 with it be confirmed that only "Senior" fixtures can take place.
That clarification has seen the U20 championship football final and minor competitions been suspended for the next 6 weeks. Locally Letirim are due to get their Connacht minor championship under way this Friday (23rd) against Galway at the Connacht Centre of Excellence.
However, further clarity is now been sought around the wording and what competitions can go ahead, as the Ladies football championship have Junior, Intermediate and Senior grades, with the possibility of Junior and Intermediate having to be postponed if only "Senior" was allowed.
A change of the word to "Adult" is also believed to be confusing as it would then bring the U20 competitions back into the fold.
