Former Roscommon goalkeeper Shane Curran has been appointed the Carlow senior football manager for the 2025 season.
Indeed, Carlow GAA released a statement to X, this evening confirming Curran’s appointment. Indeed, the St. Brigids clubman previously managed Roscommon U20 and takes over the Carlow reigns from Niall Carew.
“I am delighted that Carlow GAA have secured the services of Shane Curran as senior football team manager” said Carlow chairperson Jim Bolger.
“I believe Shane’s commitment and passion as a player; which continued into his career as a coach and manager; will have a hugely positive effect on the Carlow senior football team”.
“Shane unwavering energy and enthusiasm will hopefully drive Carlow’s ambitions to new heights and on behalf of all in Carlow GAA; I want to wish Shane and his team the very best of luck going forward into 2025.”

Carlow finished sixth in Allianz League division four last season, while exiting the Leinster championship after suffering a 4-19 to eight point defeat Wexford.
Whereas, Carlow finished bottom of their Tailteann Cup group three after a collecting just one point.
