Sligo scored a convincing win over Leitrim to take control of third place in the Connacht minor championship.
The Sligo side won out by nine points in Markeviciz park 4-18 to 2-15. Sligo had led by a point a half-time 1-11 to 2-6.
Leitrim came flying out of the traps, Liam Chandler with a second minute goal. Points from Paul Honeyman and Josh Maye moved Leitrim 1-2 to no score on three minutes.
Sligo did pull themselves together and finally levelled the score on 13 minutes, 1-4 to 0-7. Honeyman found the net for Leitrim's second goal on 19 minutes.
James Foley struck back for Sligo with a goal four minutes later and they went into half-time leading 1-11 to 2-6.
The hosts took control six minutes into the second-half. Two goals from Cian Carty and one from Eli Rooney saw Sligo win out 4-18 to 2-15.
Sligo will face Roscommon next Friday night, a result for Sligo would see them take third place and secure a semi-final place.
